Some facts#

  • URL encoding is one of ways to transmit information used over internet.
  • URL encoding is most often used when we send HTTP queries, which may contain data such as website address or form data.
  • Correctly encoded data can only contain the following characters:
  • Due to the use of the percent sign (%), URL encoding is sometimes called percent-encoding.
  • The document that defines the URL encoding is RFC 3986.
